We believe in yoga for the modern body, and yoga to enhance and balance the modern lifestyle. We place equal importance on promoting mindfulness, working in proper alignment, and increasing strength and flexibility.
In a welcoming and supportive environment, we work with those who have never practiced yoga before to advanced yogis. Our exceptional yoga staff has an immense range of trainings and knowledge in varying styles of yoga practices, including Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Hatha.
This style of yoga is a flowing, dynamic yoga practice that cultivates presence by connecting movement with breath. This practice will build strength, aid balance and weight loss, while reducing stress and increasing vitality. We offer several levels of Vinyasa:
is a slower-paced flow class geared towards those new to yoga or those who prefer a more gentle class. Time is spent breaking down sun salutations and other poses fundamental to the Vinyasa practice.
Suitable for all levels except those who are new to yoga. As you mindfully integrate movement and breath, this Vinyasa class is aimed at the seasoned beginner who has some experience and intermediate practitioners who are ready to expand their yoga practice. These classes begin to encourage practitioners to explore getting upside-down and may incorporate some arm balances and deeper backbends. We recommend that students seeking to take these classes feel confident, safe, and strong throughout classic sun salutations.
These classes are recommended for students with at least three months of consistent vinyasa practice. Vinyasa Advanced classes explore complex movements and sequences including arm balances and inversions layered over solid foundations. These classes may incorporate deeper backbends, hip opening, twists, and forward folds. The teacher will encourage rest periods and offer modifications as needed.
Suitable for all levels – Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa practice and will open and release tight areas.
Suitable for all levels – Hatha is a potent alignment oriented practice that emphasizes the forms and actions within yoga postures. Traditional asana’s are held in accurate alignment. Emphasis is placed on core strength, flexibility and balance as well as concentration and breath control. This class is based on physical postures (asanas), deep breathing, mindfulness and listening to the body.
Suitable for all levels – restorative yoga uses a series of easy, supported poses held for a long time under the right conditions (including the use of many props) to tip the balance from “fight or flight” mode into maximum relaxation. Yogis developed these poses over many years, but science tells us that, under the conditions set in restorative yoga, immediate effects on heart rate, blood pressure and brain activity are possible. Emphasis on complete muscular relaxation and comfort are emphasized to achieve a quiet state of mind and body.
Suitable for all levels – this is an all-levels class that will leave you feeling free and light. The yoga hammock is used as a prop to help you work through a series of standing postures, planks, and inversions allowing you to build heat, strength, and flexibility. The class concludes with savasana in the hammock for a truly blissful experience of being wrapped in silk, while feeling safe and fully supported. Advanced reservations are required and late cancellations may result in a late fee.
This class covers the full primary series of the ashtanga system, as taught in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. This set sequence of advanced postures utilizes ujjayi breath and bandhas (energy locks) to increase muscular strength, flexibility and concentration.
